This Privacy Policy explains how Stoquence collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects personal information when you use Stoquence, including our website, private beta product, research tools, communications, and related services.

This policy applies to users in the United States and Canada.

By using Stoquence, you acknowledge that we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. Your use of the product is also governed by our Terms of Service.

1. Privacy at a Glance

We collect only the information reasonably needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the product.

We may collect:

  • account information;
  • private beta request information;
  • product usage events;
  • support and feedback communications;
  • device, log, and security information;
  • saved product content; and
  • limited analytics information.

We do not sell personal information.

We do not sell personal information to advertisers.

At this private beta stage, we do not use personal information for third-party targeted advertising.

We do not want users to submit sensitive personal financial information, exact portfolio values, brokerage credentials, tax information, government IDs, health information, or other highly sensitive personal information unless we specifically request it and explain why.

During private beta, we may collect product usage events to understand how the product is used, improve the beta experience, fix issues, prevent abuse, and evaluate product-market fit. We aim to avoid collecting exact research inputs through analytics, such as detailed valuation assumptions, exact portfolio values, brokerage credentials, or private notes.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

We may collect:

  • preferred name;
  • email address;
  • password or authentication credentials;
  • email verification status;
  • account status;
  • region eligibility status;
  • account settings.

2.2 Private Beta Request Information

When you request access to the private beta, we may collect:

  • email address;
  • preferred name;
  • user type;
  • research frequency;
  • North America eligibility response;
  • optional feedback about your current stock research tools;
  • referral source or campaign source; and
  • consent records.

We use this information to review beta requests, understand our early user base, manage access, improve onboarding, and contact users about private beta participation.

2.4 Product Usage Information

During private beta, we may collect product usage events to improve the product, fix issues, prevent abuse, and evaluate product-market fit.

Examples may include:

  • account created;
  • email verified;
  • login activity;
  • company page viewed;
  • screener used;
  • watchlist created;
  • alert created;
  • valuation feature opened;
  • feedback submitted;
  • error or crash events; and
  • high-level feature usage counts.

Where practical, we aim to track event types and counts instead of sensitive user-entered research details.

For example, we may track that a valuation feature was opened, but we generally do not need to track exact valuation assumptions in analytics events.

2.5 Research Inputs and Saved Product Content

Depending on product features, users may create, save, or interact with:

  • watchlists;
  • saved screens;
  • saved valuation outputs;
  • alert settings;
  • notes;
  • preferences;
  • selected companies;
  • saved research workflows; and
  • other product settings.

We use this information to provide the product features you choose to use.

Because Stoquence is an investing research tool, some saved product content may reflect your research interests, watchlists, assumptions, or investment-related workflow. We recommend that you avoid entering sensitive personal financial information, exact portfolio values, brokerage credentials, tax information, account numbers, government IDs, or highly confidential information into the product.

Saved screens, watchlists, valuation assumptions, alerts, and notes are product content. We may process this content to provide, maintain, secure, support, and improve the product, as described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.

2.6 Device, Log, and Security Information

We may collect:

  • IP address;
  • browser type;
  • device type;
  • operating system;
  • approximate region;
  • pages visited;
  • timestamps;
  • referral URLs;
  • error logs;
  • authentication events;
  • suspicious activity signals; and
  • security-related logs.

We use this information to operate, secure, debug, and improve the product.

We may also use this information to detect and prevent scraping, unauthorized automation, fraud, abuse, account compromise, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service.

2.7 Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies, pixels, local storage, or similar technologies to:

  • keep users logged in;
  • remember preferences;
  • improve performance;
  • measure usage;
  • understand campaign attribution;
  • support analytics;
  • prevent fraud or abuse; and
  • secure the product.

You may control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling certain cookies may affect product functionality.

If we introduce non-essential advertising cookies, third-party targeted advertising cookies, or more invasive tracking technologies in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any required notice or choice.

2.8 Analytics, Session Replay, and Product Monitoring Tools

We may use analytics, product monitoring, error-tracking, and support tools to understand product usage, identify errors, improve onboarding, provide support, and improve the private beta experience.

These tools may include services such as PostHog, Sentry, or other analytics and error-tracking services we may adopt.

These tools may process limited account, device, log, event, usage, performance, or support information.

We aim to avoid sending sensitive research inputs, exact portfolio values, detailed valuation assumptions, brokerage credentials, tax information, or private notes to analytics tools unless clearly disclosed.

3. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • review private beta requests;
  • create and manage accounts;
  • verify email addresses;
  • provide product features;
  • save watchlists, alerts, screens, valuations, notes, and preferences;
  • provide customer support;
  • improve product design and performance;
  • monitor usage and product-market fit;
  • detect and prevent abuse, scraping, fraud, and unauthorized access;
  • investigate errors, crashes, and security issues;
  • comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations;
  • enforce our Terms of Service and related policies;
  • protect our company, users, data providers, infrastructure, and rights; and
  • create aggregated or anonymized insights that do not identify individual users.

4. Consent and Legal Basis

For Canadian users, we rely on consent and other permitted bases under applicable privacy laws to collect, use, and disclose personal information.

We aim to explain our privacy practices clearly, including what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and when we may share it.

For U.S. users, we collect and use information as described in this Privacy Policy and in accordance with applicable U.S. privacy, consumer protection, and state laws where applicable.

Where required, we may ask for additional consent or provide additional notices before collecting or using information for new purposes.

You may withdraw consent where applicable, subject to legal, contractual, operational, security, and product limitations. Withdrawing consent may affect your ability to use some or all product features.

5. Beta-Specific Monitoring

Because Stoquence is in private beta, we may monitor product usage more closely than we would in a mature production product.

This beta-specific monitoring helps us:

  • understand which features are useful;
  • identify confusing workflows;
  • fix bugs and errors;
  • measure product-market fit;
  • improve onboarding;
  • prevent abuse;
  • detect scraping or unauthorized automation;
  • manage infrastructure costs; and
  • protect data-provider relationships.

We aim to keep beta monitoring limited, reasonable, and focused on product improvement, security, abuse prevention, and operational stability.

We do not use beta monitoring to provide personalized investment advice.

6. How We Share Information

We may use analytics, product monitoring, session replay, support, and error-tracking tools to understand usage, improve the product, provide support, and fix issues.

These tools may process limited account, device, log, event, usage, support, and performance information.

We aim to avoid sending sensitive research inputs, exact portfolio values, detailed valuation assumptions, brokerage credentials, or private notes to analytics tools unless clearly disclosed.

We will respond to privacy requests within the time required by applicable law.

15. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your U.S. state of residence, our data practices, and whether applicable legal thresholds are met, you may have additional privacy rights under U.S. state privacy laws.

These rights may include the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of certain personal information, and the right to opt out of certain types of data sharing, sales, or targeted advertising.
